    Psalm 103

"The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love." September 30, 2017
I, for one, am very glad that our God is a loving and gracious God. In Psalm 103:10 it says "He does not deal with us according to our sins..." - something else to be grateful for! In Christ we see the grace of God fully laid out before us. That we have a Savior who takes our sins upon Himself, and welcomes us to have fellowship with Him. I am amazed at God's grace... and I am guessing that since you are reading this, you are as amazed as much as I am.  We ask ourselves "how could God love me and be gracious to me when I know I truly do not deserve it?"

The answer to that question is seen in both testaments: God's love reaches down to each and every one who acknowledges Him as Lord. And that in itself is a gracious act of God - the very faith to believe in Him. Our God is a Holy God, and justice is present as well as mercy. The only way the justice of God can be satisfied is in the declaration "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus..." Romans 8:1  This dovetails perfectly with Psalm 103!

May God cause all of us to fall down before Him in worship and praise as we realize that God is "merciful and gracious."
